It's December in Montana and winter hitting us hard.....LIES. It was over 40 F this past weekend, so Bucko, Blakely, and Matt Breuer (of
Ponoi River Co.) traveled over to the Mo to harass some of it's trouts. We stopped by
Headhunters Fly Shop in the morning and caught up with SOL and Sara. It was a relaxing day on the water,
for sure. Several good trout came to hand. Breuer and Blakely dropped spey bombs all over the river, while Bucko and I caught fish with our single handers. It was a little tougher to fish with three people. Our next trip with this motley crew will involve boats. It was Blakely's birthday, so we stopped and got a fabled Birthday Donut from the Donut Hole in Helena.
I got a chance to test out
Glacier Glove's Pro Angler Glove. While conditions weren't ideal for testing gloves with the temperatures ranging into the 40s, I gave them a thorough inspection. Look for a review of the gloves in the next couple days. Also stayed tuned because
Glacier Glove was generous enough to provide a pair of
Pro Angler Gloves for
YGF's first gear giveaway.
If you haven't had a chance, check out my interview on
the Fish Schtick.
Enjoy the video in
HD on vimeo. Music from The Roots "Sleep."

ha - nice one bro!
Great Stuff...again, Sir. Glad to hear that the Gear Folks are starting to tkae notice of your deeds and postings. Hope 2012 brings you (much more of!!!!) the same. BTW, great interview on The Fish Shtick. You had 'em laughing..which always counts for something. Good to hear you exercise your singing pipes; I'm sure the Trouts of Many Varieties would also appreciate your vocal endeavours.
BTW..you should update your Goal #2...think you hit every month now.
Ivan, Any chance Wilma will get her own "Wilma Goes Fishing" video? S/T would be the old Flinstones cartoon opening song? She has the natural acting touch.
thanks kyle
tats - glad you enjoyed the interview. every month has been hit, true. i was thinking that i should put together the best of wilma collection. i think she is starting to realize what the blinking red light on the go pro means. "time to pose." she followed me over to where I set the camera up for the shot 0:18 and straight up posed for 10 seconds, looking regal and everything.
I don't know what looks better, the Double IPA or the donut cake...
Great Video!
start to finish, looked like a great trip. I like that we got to see both on and off the water.
happy holidays.
@Sanders - they were both delicious. i would go with the Double Haul IPA on a more consistent basis, but the Birthday donut won the day. thanks for stopping by Sanders.
@d.nash - it certainly was a nice jaunt. usually off the water activities are less frequent limited to before and after fishing. but, on saturday, we took a more relaxed pace.
RAD
Trout, Dogs and Donuts! Hard to beat! Nice work!
You had me at birthday donut...
As always, STELLAR video! Thank you.
Happy new year Ivan! Hoping this new year brings you many more hook-jawed slab-sided denizens of the deep! Mike
@jen - thanks. rad is an underused word in the fly fishing community.
@func and @owl - i think the donut took the cake.......whose with me?
@mike - Happy New Year to you Mike! I wish the same good fortunes from the depths to you and yours.
